You’ll be tearing up the takeaway menu after trying Mama Sood’s tantalisingly unique take on homemade pizza.

Ingredients

– 1 cup warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
– 1 (.25 ounce) package active dry yeast
– 1 teaspoon white sugar
– 2 ½ cups bread flour
– 2 tablespoons olive oil
– 1 teaspoon salt

Spread: Tomato & Pineapple chutney

To make Chilli Chutney Oil: Add 2 tsp of Chilli chutney to 4 tbl sp of olive oil and mix well.

Method

1. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C). Lightly grease a pizza pan. Round up your ingredients & get ready to create some kitchen magic!

2. Okay, let’s get this dough on the road. Pour the warm water into a bowl, then add yeast and sugar. Mix and let stand until creamy (about 10 minutes).

3. Add flour, oil, and salt to the yeast mixture, then beat until smooth. You can do this by hand or by using a stand mixer fitted with a dough hook to make it easier (we won’t judge). Let the mixture rest for 5 minutes.

4. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and pat or roll into a 12-inch circle. Transfer to the prepared pizza pan.

5. Time for the special ingredient to work its magic! Spread the crust with Mama’s Tomato & Pineapple chutney, then add any toppings of your choice.

6. Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown (15-20 minutes). Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes before serving.

7. Garnish with a few drops of chilli chutney oil and serve.

8. Enjoy, and have your perception of pizza permanently changed for the better.

Recipe Tips

Don’t be afraid to adapt the recipe to suit your unique tastes – use whatever toppings your heart desires. You can even experiment with Mama’s chutneys! Why not try Apple chutney instead of tomato chutney? The world is your oyster.
