Tomato & Pineapple
Well presented, this chutney has a rich tomato colour packed with pieces of fruit with an inviting pineapple aroma. It tastes clean and natural and the flavour of the spices is balanced. The raisins were plump and juicy and the pineapple adds an interesting flavour.

Date & Tamarind
The aroma definitely holds the sweetness and sourness that carries effortlessly through to the taste. We liked the overall blend of this product and the unexpected flavour journey of sweet, sour and then heat. It could be used as a glaze as well as an addition to a grazing board.

Brian's Red Onion
This is clearly a fruity chutney with a tempting, gentle sweet curried nose. On tasting, the spices have been cooked out well and we did enjoy the heat coming through. It is a flavourful, spicier alternative to mango chutney with evident versatility.

Lemon & Lime
There were generous pieces of lime evident in the jar and a real hit in the mouth. The balance of sweetness and sharpness was well done and the citrus had a decent bite that added to the mouthfeel. The spices sang out and were warming but did not dominate in any way.

How is this different from the Chutney Selection Gift Set?
The Gift Set is our four core flavours. This bundle is the four Great Taste winners, including Brian's Red Onion and Lemon & Lime, which you won't find in the Gift Set.

What does "judged blind" mean?
The judges taste every entry without seeing the jar, the label or the brand. Nothing to go on but flavour.

Will there be more?
Not of this bundle. 50 were made and that's all there will be.

How should I store my chutney?
Somewhere cool and dry, out of direct sunlight. Once opened, keep it in the fridge.

How long will it last once opened?
For the best flavour, use within a month of opening.

Is it suitable for vegans and gluten-free diets?
Yes. All four jars are vegan and gluten free.

Can I cook with them?
Yes. Dip them, spread them, cook with them. Stir a spoon into a curry, glaze meat with them, or use them in a marinade.
